how to measure your nails
- Clear or paper tape
- A fine pen
- A ruler in millimetres
Place tape over the nail
Stick a small piece of clear or paper tape across the widest part of your natural nail.
Press into the nail edges
Gently press the tape down on both sides so you can feel exactly where the nail ends.
Mark the edges with a pen
Draw a short line on the tape at each side of the nail, right at the widest point.
Check the lines are straight
Both marks should be straight and parallel – redo them if one is slanted.
Remove the tape
Peel the tape off carefully and stick it flat on a table.
Measure in millimetres
Measure the distance between the two marks with a ruler. Repeat for all five fingers.
